About the role

As a Data Engineer at Slash, you'll be instrumental in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our fast-growing fintech platform. You'll work closely with our product, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure data reliability, accessibility, and insights that drive business decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that process billions of dollars in transaction data

  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries to extract meaningful business insights

  • Develop ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources including payment processors, banking partners, and internal systems

  • Build and maintain our data warehouse architecture

  • Collaborate with analytics team to create automated reporting systems and dashboards

  • Implement data quality monitoring and alerting systems

  • Design schema structures that balance analytical needs with performance

  • Create documentation for data models and pipelines

  • Partner with product teams to instrument new features and capture relevant metrics

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years of experience in data engineering or similar role

  • Demonstrates expert-level SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and optimizing performance

  • Has strong experience with modern data stack (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Snowflake)

  • Shows proficiency in Python or similar programming language

  • Has experience building and maintaining data pipelines at scale

  • Brings strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Can translate business requirements into technical specifications

  • Has excellent communication skills and can work effectively with non-technical stakeholders

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and commitment to data quality
